Marek and Denisa
Marek Gábor & Denisa Jancusova, graduates of Technical University in
Slovakia, have been dancing together since 1994. They were Latin
Finalists in the Slovak Championships in 1999, 2000, and 2001 and won
4th Place in the 10-Dance category at the Slovak Championships in 2002
and 2003. In 2001, 2002, and 2003, they finished in the Top 5 in
Latin and Standard for the Slovak Cup (a series of ten competitions).
They were Latin Semifinalists at the Central European Championships in
2001, won 1st Place at the international 10-Dance competition in
Germany in 2003, won Best 10-Dance Couple in Slovakia in 2004, and won
2nd Place in Standard at the Professional Rising Star Competition in
New Brunswick, NJ in 2005. Denisa was also Miss Eurosport in 2003.
Marek and Denisa are among the highest level competitors in
world. They have recently competed and done well in many
competitions, including the 2007 Blackpool Dance Festival in England,
as well as the 2007 U.S. Dance Championships in Orlando, FL.
They have experience and expertise in a wide variety of dance
including ballroom Standard and Latin, Mambo, Salsa, Merengue, as well
as traditional national dances such as Polka and Czardas, and Jazz and
modern dances. Since 1996 they have been teaching all levels and also
choreograph for formation teams. They have diplomas in dance training
and are licensed physical trainers.
Since May 2004, Marek and Denisa have been performing and
teaching in New Jersey and Massachusetts. They instruct singles,
couples, and groups in Standard, Latin, Smooth, and Rhythm. They also
help their students prepare for showcases and competitions and assist
with music editing and costume creation.
